For C.P Company’s “The Sacred Game” issue of Arcipelago, we traced Tranmere Rovers’ unlikely journey through European club competition in the early 1990s, a time in which they regularly competed against Italian teams.

A football club that’s close to our hearts, we met fans and former players, drawing on archive and reportage photography to document the club’s history and the town’s sociopolitical story. Massimo Osti’s designs were – and remain to be – beloved by British football fans, so the project focussed on the connectivity between the terraces of North West England and the visionary legacy of the legendary designer from Bologna.
