In modern-day Manchester, the Nike Air Max Plus – commonly known as the TN – has been a defining feature of the city’s streets for the past 25 years; worn religiously by its rappers and musicians, graffiti artists and skaters, their charisma, attitudes and worldviews matching the loud, expressive colourways of the shoe. Over two decades, the Air Max Plus has become a street fashion staple within the city’s creative underground.

For this Sevenstore film, we channelled Manchester’s ancient roots and the recent cultural history of the Air Max Plus. Over one day we took over the city centre with a crew of dancers who hit the streets with a soundsystem, disrupting the daily bustle of life with their primal, unhinged movements.
